AUAWIRLEBEN 2013: COMFORT ZONE

16 theatre productions and 3 bands from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Belgium, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, the US, Germany and Switzerland, a festival centre in a circus tent, a fanzine and an international workshop for young artists is what AUAWIRLEBEN 2013 has in store. With the festival code «Comfort Zone» we are implementing the question of the distribution of money, power, resources – in short: of concrete participation – as an artistic strategy and strive to interfere with political and social contexts. AUA 2013 puts an end to the apartheid between work, money and love, between knowledge and action. There is no hiding in the masses.

Inspired by Mark Lombardi’s cartography of power, which deciphered the entwinement of money and made it readable, we are assembling a diagram of division together with the invited artists, groups and spectators and ask whether comfort zones are still desirable under these circumstances – let alone possible.
