Key visual Theaterfestival auawirleben Bern

Accessibility

We want our festival to be accessible to a lot of people. That’s why offer various accessibility provisions. With the programme filter, you can find the performances with these provisions. If you have any questions about accessibility, please feel free to contact Silja Gruner (031 318 62 16 or silja.gruner@auawirleben.ch).

Translation into sign language

For deaf  people and people with hearing impairments, some performances are translated into Swiss German Sign Language (DSGS).
Here you ca find all events with translation into Sign Language.

Surtitles

Many of the performances are surtitled in German or English. This means that even, for example, those with French spoken text are understandable for a wide audience. Thanks to the (in some instances descriptive) surtitles, they are also accessible to hearing-impaired or deaf audience members.
Here you can find all events with surtitles.

For people with visual disabilities

For people with visual disabilities, some performances are made accessible by means of audio description. Live spoken descriptions of the action on stage can be heard via headphones. Some other events are also accessible to people with visual disabilities per se or with another measure. In addition, we offer tactile guided tours for selected performances.
Here you will find all events accessible to people with visual disabilities.

For people with mobility disabilities

The venues with this symbol are accessible for people with mobility disabilities and have a (wheelchair) accessible toilet.

Relaxed Performances

Some performances take place as Relaxed Performances. The lights are never turned down completely and it is possible to leave the room and come back at any time. Other things that are otherwise disturbing in the theatre, such as talking, are also allowed. We also provide alternative seating and a relaxed space outside the theatre space where you can retreat at any time.
Here you can find all the Relaxed Performances.
